The winds and the planning of the cities Which the importance of the winds for the planning of the cities? The winds blow in some directions. In our planet, in some localities the wind blows more frequently in a direction of what in others. The wind that blows in this direction receives the name from predominant wind or wind prevalecente. Which the importance of this for the planning of cities? Knowing the predominant wind of a place where a city must be installed, for example, the place most adequate for the installation of industries, lixes can be decided, airports. The industrial region must be pointed out in a place where the predominant winds smell carreguem it and the pollutants emitted for the chimneys for distant places of the city (Figure 1). In case that if it has not led in consideration the wind, can be implanted an industrial polar region in a place where the predominant winds will take the evil smell and the pollutants directly for the parts residences of the city.
The same example serves for the lixes. Figure 1. Industries emitting pollution. Before installing them in a certain place the predominant direction of the wind in the region must be known that will receive (s) the industry (s). Source of the photo: For airports it must be attempted against to locate them of form that the wind facilitates to the landing and the take-off of the aircraft. Thus, if the predominant wind is of the direction North-South highway, the flight track must be constructed in this direction and direction. Of the opposite, one increases the risks of accidents during the landing and take-off of airplanes. Although many times let us not notice the importance of the winds, the examples above, supply a notion of the importance of them, for example, planning of the cities.
